  • Two cases involving an eight-year-old and the alleged rape of a teenager by a high-profile politician have put pressure on the Prime Minister’s party, which is being accused of defending the men implicated in both cases

Guatemalan / Belizean Border Dispute

  • Guatemalans voted Sunday on a generations-old border dispute, likely moving them them closer to resolving some 4,200 square miles of territory currently administered by Belize
  • Belize still needs to hold a referendum which was stipulated under a 2008 agreement between the two countries
